Freddie Levin grew up in Chicago and has been making art of one kind or another for as long as she can remember. She is the author/illustrator of an award winning series of step by step guides called 1 2 3 Draw. In addition to her own books, she has illustrated picture books, emergent readers, puzzles, games, greeting cards, coloring books, and many other projects. Several years ago, she began her love affair with copper enamel, combining it with her unique illustration style. Under the name Parakeet Moon, she offers painted enamel jewelry, trinket bowls, and small boxes.

Freddie holds a BFA in art education and an MFA in history of art from the University of Illinois. She lives and works in Evanston. In her spare time, she is a puppeteer. Images of her work are available on Instagram at freddielev555.
