Susan Baim
I have always done some type of artwork, but for the past 15+ years, I have been an avid polymer clay artist. I mostly make polymer clay mosaics and “paintings,” but I also love making pendants and earrings. There are many different polymer clay techniques, but my favorites are surface techniques, most notably applying oil or acrylic paints, alcohol inks, mica powders, pastels, foils, gilders paste, and more to a sheet of polymer clay and using this veneer to make mosaic tiles. I have been an active member of the Chicago Area Polymer Clay Guild for more than 15 years and was secretary of the guild for several years. In addition to my love of working with clay, I work with seed beads, using them to make intricate designs for necklaces and bracelets.
