Some mornings when I unlock the doors at Artem, the gallery is still and quiet. The light moves slowly across the walls, touching paintings, ceramics, fiber art, and jewelry—each piece holding the story of an artist who created it.
Over the years, these walls have witnessed countless moments of creativity, conversation, and discovery.
As Artem approaches its eighth year on April 1st, it feels like the perfect time to begin sharing some of those stories.
A Creative Home for Artists
Step inside Artem and you’ll notice something immediately: no two walls feel the same.
Paintings hang beside fiber art. Handcrafted jewelry glimmers near ceramics and mixed media. Each piece carries the voice of an artist, yet together they create a conversation.
That conversation is the heart of Artem.
Great creativity has rarely stayed within the boundaries of a single medium. Throughout history, artists like Leonardo da Vinci explored many disciplines—from painting to science to design. Contemporary artists such as Yayoi Kusama move between painting, sculpture, and immersive environments.
Creativity often grows when ideas travel between materials and forms.
That spirit of exploration is something we celebrate at Artem.
A Community of Artists
Today, Artem brings together 57 artists, each working in their own medium and style. Painters, jewelers, ceramicists, photographers, fiber artists, and mixed-media creators share the gallery walls.
Some pieces are delicate and quiet. Others are bold and expressive.
Together they create a living, evolving collection of creativity.
Curating a gallery is not only about placing artwork on walls. It is about creating relationships between pieces—allowing different forms of art to speak to one another.
A ceramic piece may echo the colors of a nearby painting. A textile work may share the rhythm of a landscape. A piece of jewelry may reflect the same natural inspiration as a painting across the room.
These quiet dialogues are part of what makes visiting a gallery meaningful.

What started as a space to showcase local artists has become a place where creativity, conversation, and discovery meet.

Introducing The Artem Journal
As Artem enters its eighth year, we are beginning something new.
The Artem Journal is a space where we will share more of the stories unfolding within these walls—the artists, the inspiration behind their work, reflections from the gallery, and the many ways art connects us to each other.
Think of it as an extension of the gallery—a place where the conversation continues.
