Kathleen Toledano creates mixed-media artwork under the name Kathleen’s Kollected. Inspired by observing people and the ways we individually and collectively interact with and view the world, Kathleen works across shadow boxes, jewelry, and other mixed-media forms. Her process often begins with a single object or piece of text, such as a poem, vintage frame, or purse, that sparks an idea she wants to express. From there, she draws from materials collected over many years, including vintage jewelry, toys, stamps, paper, and other found objects, combining them with her own painting and drawing to create richly layered, one-of-a-kind work.
