Marlene Mendez is an award-winning photographer based in Evanston, Illinois. Her love of photography began in 1979, when she purchased her first 35mm SLR to document the early days of her newborn son. Over the years, photography became a way for Marlene to intensify life’s moments and share her visual memories with others. Her work has appeared in group exhibitions throughout Bucks County, New Jersey, the Philadelphia area, and Chicago, as well as solo exhibitions in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania. Her photographs have also been selected for Black & White Magazine and LensWork and recognized through the Black and White Spider Awards and International Color Awards. With each image, Marlene seeks to capture a fleeting moment of light and emotion that inspires a sense of wonder.
