Terry Nugent is a glass artist whose work explores the interaction of heat, gravity, color, and form. She began her journey with glass as a student at Diablo Glass Studio in Boston and has spent the past 15 years working from her own studio. Terry’s practice centers on experimentation, allowing the unique properties of glass to guide the colors and shapes of each handcrafted bead. A visit to Murano, Italy deepened her appreciation for more than five centuries of glassmaking tradition and the continued innovation of contemporary flameworkers. Each bead Terry creates is carefully annealed for strength, hardness, and stability, combining technical craftsmanship with her fascination for the seemingly endless possibilities of glass.
