William Marvin is a landscape painter whose work reflects a lifelong connection to the outdoors. Raised along the Fox River in rural Wisconsin, he spent his childhood exploring the surrounding rivers, woods, and fields before moving with his family to California, where backpacking throughout Oregon, Washington, and Yosemite deepened his love of the Western landscape. William studied design, drawing, painting, and advertising illustration at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, graduating with honors in 1974 before moving to Chicago for a career in graphic design. After working in children’s book illustration, magazine publishing, and annual report design, he returned to his first love, painting the outdoors. He began exhibiting his landscapes in 1996 and went on to participate in regional and national competitions, group exhibitions, and solo shows. His work can now be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
